EXCLUSIVE | Major reinforcement for the National Guard with EuroSpike anti-tank missiles and ENOK A.B vehicles

According to exclusive information obtained by the writer, Cyprus has already signed an agreement for the acquisition of anti-tank missiles of the SPIKE family and specifically of the EuroSpike consortium (Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Diehl and Rheinmetall).

The information was given to the writer during talks with EuroSpike representatives at the recent DEFEA 2023. The said information was confirmed once again today during the presentation of the system at a Defence and Security conference being held in Nicosia on May 15-16, 2023.

Panzerabwehr 4×4 by ACS (5. März 2023)

Die ACS Armoured Car Systems GmbH hat auf der EnforceTac in Nürnberg eine neue Variante des ENOK AB (Airborne) vorgestellt. Es handelt sich um eine Panzerabwehr-Variante, die entsprechende Lenkflugkörper aufnehmen kann.

Laut ACS werden noch in diesem Jahr 60 dieser Fahrzeuge an eine europäische Armee ausgeliefert.

Der ENOK AB ist bereits in Tschechien, Ungarn und Zypern bei den Spezial- und Luftlandekräften in Nutzung.

As part of their strategic partnership, France’s Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) and the Cypriot Ministry of Defense have concluded a significant agreement. This agreement marks a new step forward in strengthening defense ties between the two nations. Within this framework, Arquus will provide 12 armored vehicles: SHERPA Station Wagon, specifically adapted for firing the AKERON missile. Arquus will also handle the integration of the weapon system.

The cooperation between the Cypriot Ministry of Defense and Arquus is set to deepen, with plans to modernize the National Guard’s fleet of 4x4 and 6x6 VAB vehicles of the National Gard. This upgrade program will feature a significant localization component by involving companies from Cyprus’ defense industry cluster, CARIE (Cyprus Association of Research and Innovation Enterprises) as per the guidelines of Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulidis.
