Russia adds anti-aircraft missile capability to Shahed one-way attack drones

Bild

Bild
Photos circulating on social media show a Shahed-136-type uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) modified to carry a man-portable air defence missile system – commonly known as a MANPADS.

The normally shoulder-fired missile is mounted on the forward dorsal section of the delta-wing UAV, located just behind the nose section that typically carries an explosive warhead for striking ground targets.
Ukrainian Major General Vladyslav Klochkov confirmed the authenticity of the photos, saying the one-way UAV had been fitted with a camera and radio modem to remotely fire the missile.

“The missile launch is carried out by an operator from Russian territory. The enemy is seeking new ways to destroy our aircraft,” Klochkov said in a post to social media.

Klochkov is a former ground forces commander who now heads the Directorate of Psychological and Moral Support for the Ukrainian armed forces.

UK to develop new deep strike ballistic missile for Ukraine

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-t ... or-ukraine

theoderich hat geschrieben: Fr 29. Aug 2025, 19:07 NIGHTFALL
Description

The User requires a cost-effective, tactical (>600km) ballistic missile, capable of being safely ground launched from a mobile platform in a high threat tactical environment, navigating to and accurately striking a user-programmed co-ordinate. It shall be: operable in harsh physical environments, day and night, of low multispectral signature, resilient in a complex Electromagnetic environment (EME), including within a GNSS denied & degraded environment, and resistant against targeted EW attack and spoofing.

Subject to potential future contract, manufacturing shall be scalable to meet operational requirements at a minimum of 10 units per month, with the ability to further increase."

Overview:

MOD requires the ability to deliver multiple (>2) effectors from a single ground vehicle. Each effector must carry a circa 300kg (high explosive) payload over 600km on a ballistic trajectory, with some basic manoeuvrability. Such solutions are commonly referred to as tactical ballistic missiles. The effector must be able to navigate in a GPS denied environment and strike within 5m of a provided GPS co-ordinate 50% of the time i.e. have a CEP50 of 5m.

Flight time must be rapid - able to strike targets within 10 minutes of an effector launch. Similarly, launch time must be rapid - we envision all NIGHTFALL effectors being fired from the same launcher within 15 minutes of stopping at a launch location. Post launch, the ground vehicle/launcher and crew must be able to rapidly leave the area, ideally in 5 minutes.

The target effector cost is £500,000 all-up per unit, excluding the warhead, launcher and any development costs. We are looking for technologies that can be packaged within 9-12 months to provide at least five all-up units for trials. The design should minimise and ideally be free from foreign government trade and usage restrictions, such as export control. The design must have the ability to be upgraded in the future, such as increasing the range, accuracy, in-flight manoeuvrability, fitted telemetry and other elements as required.

At this stage, MOD is keen to understand Industry's feedback to this challenge statement. We do not need to be presented with a complete solution. If your product answers part of the problem we encourage you to participate and network with other companies who can also part of the solution. If you are offering part of the solution, we need you to explicitly state which part of the problem you are answering within the categories of:

Propulsion system i.e. Rocket Motors or other systems.

Airframe

Navigation

Ability to scale

Mobile launcher systems

Systems Integration

The project will be prioritising scalability over exquisite solutions.

The following could be government furnished (Gfx):

Payload

Fuzes

Testing ranges/facilities

Support for scaling

Windracers UAS Perform ‘Kinetic’ Strikes In Ukraine

https://aviationweek.com/defense/aircra ... es-ukraine

UK's Windracers to establish T&E, MRO facility in Ukraine by January 2027
UK unmanned aircraft system (UAS) manufacturer Windracers is looking to establish a facility in Ukraine by January 2027 for test and evaluation (T&E), and manufacturing, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of UASs, Windracers CEO Simon Muderack told Janes in an interview on 15 January.

“We have some physical infrastructure in place today,” Muderack said, adding, “it's maintenance and development – a bit of everything”.

Ukraine operation

Windracers will be looking to add fixed infrastructure in Ukraine as the company plans to increase the number of its Ultra UASs in the country. “More of a bricks and mortar type of presence, expanding what we already have, scaling it up, making it more permanent,” Muderack said.

The company's goal is to produce more than 100 Ultra UASs at its facilities in the United Kingdom by January 2027. “A number of those will go to Ukraine,” Muderack said. So far, Windracers has delivered dozens of its Ultra UASs to Ukraine.

Windracers previously worked with unnamed Ukrainian companies to test new sensors and payloads integrated onto the Ultra UAS in Ukraine. “In terms of manufacturing [with Ukrainian companies] we are in the very early stages,” Muderack added. He did not wish to go into details on lethal payloads being added to the Ultra UAS. However, Muderack confirmed that the Ultra platform was involved in kinetic missions as well as resupply missions and intelligence gathering in Ukraine. “I can't go into the specifics on that but by definition the delivery of a kinetic mission is when you deliver a payload that is explosive.”

‘A soap opera’: How Ukraine’s frontline soldiers view peace talks
Ukraine’s new defense minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, told parliament that around 200,000 soldiers are currently AWOL, and that roughly 2 million Ukrainians are wanted for alleged mobilization violations — a scale-of-force problem that sits underneath every negotiating headline, the Associated Press reported.

October alone saw a record 21,602 desertion cases, per The Kyiv Independent.
Primo spoke with certainty: “At the moment, accepting Russian demands will mean more war during my lifetime,” he said. “It would mean despair for those who fought, distrust in the government, apathy in the EU.”

Many officials feel similarly. A senior European diplomat told Military Times in December that the American-led peace deal "scares the bejesus out of us" and appeared to benefit Russia more than Western allies.

(Quelle)
