Uncrewed high-altitude balloons could soon be used by the Armed Forces, following recent trials led by DE&S. 🎈
Operating at altitudes of 60,000 to 80,000 feet above the Earth, the balloons are capable of conducting intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, enhancing security for UK interests both at home and abroad. ⚔️
👉 They could also be used to deliver reliable communication and high-speed internet connectivity to disaster zones and may support climate research by providing valuable data for weather forecasting.
