Denmark has joined the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme by signing the Technical Arrangement. Following this, Denmark plans to proceed on the next execution phases of the programme.

Denmark plans to purchase a total of 130 CAVS vehicles from Patria.
The value of the Danish procurement is approximately DKK 1.9 billion, approximately 250 million euros. Denmark is planning to purchase a smaller batch of vehicles this year and a larger batch next year.

Die neuen Patria 6x6 werden in das leichte Infanteriebataillon und die neue schwere Brigade eingegliedert. Sie werden von Infanterie- und Pioniereinheiten als Führungs-, Sanitäts-, Kommunikations- und EloKa-Fahrzeuge verwendet.
Denmark orders Patria 6×6 APCs after joining CAVS programme
Mats Warstedt, Patria's senior vice-president for the Nordic market area, told Janes on 4 April that the CAVS 6×6 vehicle has so far been delivered in the APC and command-and-control (C2) versions and that a medevac/ambulance version has also been ordered but not yet delivered.
He said, “It is up to every CAVS member state to define the requirement for local production. Factors affecting that decision could be volumes and delivery times.”
A Danish MoD Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) spokesperson told Janes on 9 April, “The vehicles will be produced in Finland but we will be looking into future sustainment contracts with a local Danish footprint. Denmark is accelerating the build up of combat power with emphasis on speed of delivery, interoperability, and interchangeability in a European and especially a Nordic context. The Patria 6×6 platform is therefore a natural choice for Denmark with Finland, Sweden, Latvia, and Germany already in the programme.”

Der afsættes bl.a. 1,4 mia. kroner til lageropbygning af ammunition til den tunge brigade og yderligere 1,25 mia. kroner til digital føringskapacitet, EW-kapacitet (Electronic Warfare), pansret mandskabsvogne med tung morter og materiel til CBRN-dekontamineringskapacitet.
