Dass auf der heute verteilten Tagesordnung dann aber doch nur zwei anstelle von fünf Beschaffungsvorlagen auftauchten, habe mit nicht eingehaltenen Fristen zu tun, verriet ein mit dem Vorgang vertrauter Mitarbeiter gegenüber CPM Defence Network. Die Vorlagen, bei denen es sich um eine Nachbeschaffung von Waffenstationen des Typ FLW 100 und 200, weitere Soldatensysteme IdZ (Infanterist der Zukunft) und das Projekt TAWAN (Tactical Wide Area Network) handeln soll, könnten allerdings noch von den Regierungsfraktionen als Ergänzungsantrag eingebracht werden.

Regeneration und Neubeschaffung von IdZ-Zugsystemen

Das Soldatensystem „Infanterist der Zukunft“ (IdZ) wird bei der Bundeswehr vor allem in der Jägertruppe und bei der Panzergrenadiertruppe eingesetzt. Es steht für die moderne – insbesondere digitale – Ausstattung der Soldatinnen und Soldaten. Dazu gehören Bekleidung, Schutz, Waffen, Optiken sowie Funk- und Führungsmittel. Mit der Einführung der IdZ-Ausstattung wurden persönliche Mobilität, Überlebensfähigkeit und Durchhaltefähigkeit der Infanteristen wesentlich gesteigert.

Blaupause des Vorhabens ist der im Rahmen des System Panzergrenadier VJTF 2023 entwickelte und im Einsatz erprobte Konstruktionsstand. Aufgrund der modernen Führungsmittel und dem speziell auf die Anforderungen der Infanterie ausgelegten Battle Management System wird Führung und Befehlsgebung innerhalb einer Kompanie erheblich vereinfacht. Zudem ermöglicht das System aufgrund der modernen Nachtsicht- und Nachtzielmittel den Kampf bei Tag, Nacht und ebenso bei eingeschränkter Sicht. Der Finanzbedarf für die Beschaffungen beläuft sich auf knapp 418 Millionen Euro, die über das Sondervermögen Bundeswehr finanziert werden.

THEON receives new orders in January 2025, totaling €53 million, with embedded new options of an additional €95.5 million and participates in the German Future Soldier Program

Nicosia, 7 February 2025 – Theon International Plc (THEON) announces new order intake totalling €53 million so far in 2025, coming from 12 countries in total. These orders further add to THEON’s already increased soft backlog of c. €650 million as of 31 December 2024.

The main part of these new orders (including the sizeable option) comes from the German Future Soldier Program (IdZ), further strengthening THEON presence in one of its core markets, Germany. Importantly, these new orders were for THEON’S newly launched Heads-Up Display system, part of its new A.R.M.E.D. products offering, demonstrating good commercial traction and underscoring the potential for material new sales in this area.

On 29 January 2025, the German Parliament passed procurement of IdZ, with Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH being the prime contractor. Subsequently, BAAINBw and Rheinmetall have signed the contract on 6 February 2025. Theon Sensors S.A., subsidiary of Theon International Plc is the largest supplier of the program. This program is anticipated to serve as a prime reference for similar programs being organized in various countries worldwide. At the same time, THEON is currently making positive progress, engaged in additional tenders with its new products, and anticipates making further announcements soon, thereby enhancing the sales mix in the coming years. THEON expects options to be fully exercised once first deliveries start occurring primarily in 2026.

Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias Attends “Modern Fighter” Upgrade Programme (4. Februar 2025)

On Tuesday 4 February 2025, the Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias attended the presentation of the “Modern Fighter” upgrade programme held at the “Major General Alexandros Xiros” auditorium of the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon).

The programme aims to upgrade the current equipment issued to soldiers in order for them to respond to the modern and ever changing battlefield. The upgrade structure includes five levels, namely survival, communication, awareness, agility, and firepower.

The “Modern Fighter” programme, with an estimated cost of 204 million euros, will be mainly implemented through the cooperation of the 700th Military Plant and the 301st Base Plant with Greek companies, while the first delivery of equipment is estimated to take place in the summer of 2026.

Description:

DALO is considering publishing a future tender for the supply and sustainment of an advanced sigthing system (also called "FCS" - Fire Control System), able to cover several weapon platforms, including 84mm recoilles rifle (hereunder CG M4), 12.7mm heavy machine guns (HMG) and 40mm automatic grenade launchers (hereunder H&K GMG). Full compatibility with the SAAB Dynamics AB Carl-Gustaf M4 system (including FIREBOLT technology) is in this case a must-have. The offered FCS must also be able to provide automated ballistic calculation functionality allowing for engaging static and moving targets with different weapons and in differnt situations (from a static position, from a vehicle/vessel/aircraft) and at the weapons' effective ranges. Due to the system's specific interaction with other systems, it is expected that the Supplier will not only be able to meet the technical requirements (mostly rooted in the desired performance across diferent use patterns), but that they will also be able to guarantee integration with systems such as indoor simulators already in use by the Danish Defence (GSIMS from Thales). Sustainment of DALO's existing legacy fleet of in-service FCS (Aimpoint FCS14 RE) may also be the part of the tender. DALO is therefore seeking information in order to prepare for the possible tender. DALO encourages all potential suppliers to show their interest by answering this Request for Information (RFI).
