Logistics Command to Purchase 29 Patria XA-300s for the Finnish Army
In September 2024, the FDFLOGCOM redeemed 29 purchase option vehicles with equipment and spares with a total value of 36,5 million euros (incl. VAT). The first 41 purchase option vehicles were redeemed late in the year 2023 and early in 2024.
Finland to purchase more Patria 6x6 armoured vehicles
The Finnish Defence Forces is acquiring more Patria 6x6 vehicles from the additional purchase option included in the previously signed agreement. In the summer of 2023, Patria and the Defence Forces Logistics Command signed an agreement for 91 armoured personnel carriers with equipment. The procurement agreement included an additional purchase option for 70 vehicles, of which the Defence Forces previously redeemed 41 at the turn of the year 2023–2024 and now an additional 29 vehicles. The ordered vehicles will be delivered by the end of 2025.
Patria and Latvian Ministry of Defence have agreed on the manufacturing and delivery of 56 additional armoured Patria 6x6 vehicles, on top of the already ongoing deliveries as part of joint Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme. These vehicles will serve as command and control (C2) units. Production of the vehicles will utilize local industry capabilities in Latvia, including Patria’s armoured vehicle production facility in Valmiera, opened in May 2024. The deliveries will begin during this year and last until 2029. The value of the agreement is above 60 million Euros.

EU boosts defence readiness with first ever financial support for common defence procurement
The Commission has approved funding for five cross-border projects to support more coordinated and efficient defence procurement among EU Member States. Implemented under the European Defence Industry Reinforcement through Common Procurement instrument (EDIRPA), each of the 5 selected projects will receive €60 million, representing a total amount of €300 million funding.
Procurement of modern armoured vehicles
EDIRPA will also support the procurement of the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS), a modern armoured carrier for protected troop transport, by four Member States (FI, LV, SE, DE). The modern armoured vehicles offer high performance and unprecedented mobility.
Das lettische Verteidigungsministerium hat bekanntgegeben, dass man mit Testfahrten des Patria 6x6 auf öffentlichen Straßen begonnen hat. Dabei wird die Leistung des Fahrzeugs überwacht, während es sich mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 90 km/h bewegt. Dazu war auch eine Änderung der Straßenverkehrsordnung notwendig. Bisherige Testfahrten haben auf dem Truppenübungsplatz Ādaži stattgefunden.
