Poland to receive first F-35As in December
https://www.flightglobal.com/fixed-wing ... 57.articleManufacturer Lockheed revealed the inaugural Polish jet, designated tail number “AZ-01”, on 28 August at the company’s F-35 assembly site in Fort Worth, Texas. The lead fighters will initially be stationed at the USA’s Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Arkansas, among eight examples which will be used to train Polish air force pilots until 2027. The next two of those jets will be transferred to the site in January-February 2025.
A total of 24 pilots and 92 ground personnel will be trained by the US Air Force, with the Polish air force’s first two instructor pilots to begin receiving their instruction from mid-September.
Warsaw plans to outfit two combat squadrons with a total 32 F-35As. The fighters will operate with the local designation “Husarz” – the Polish term for a historic cavalry unit.

Re: Polen: Kampfflugzeugprogramm "Harpia"
The targeting systems for Poland were included in a recently finalized U.S. Foreign Military Sale contract worth $90.68 million to Lockheed Martin. Poland will receive Sniper Advanced Targeting Pods with two-way datalinks, system support and spare parts.
The targeting-sensor system will be integrated onto Poland’s new FA-50 fighter jets.
In the future, the Sniper pods for Poland’s FA-50 and F-16 fighters could be quickly upgraded to a new variant, the Sniper Networked Targeting Pod, which was announced by Lockheed Martin in July. When enhanced with advanced datalink and radio technology, Sniper pods will enable unprecedented interoperability for 4th Generation aircraft, new F-35 Lightning II fighters, and ground-based artillery systems such as HIMARS.

IFC 2024: Polish Air Force pushing for CCA fundingtheoderich hat geschrieben: ↑Mi 8. Nov 2023, 18:16 Poland explores loyal wingman options for F-35 fleet
https://www.janes.com/osint-insights/de ... ca-fundingThe Polish Air Force is pressing its government to provide funding for its plans to field an unmanned ‘loyal wingman' for its future fleet of Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II combat aircraft, the Deputy General Commander of the Polish Armed Forces said on 6 November.
Speaking a year to the day since he first disclosed at the same IQPC International Fighter Conference (IFC) in 2023 that Poland was conducting a market evaluation of potential collaborative combat aircraft (CCA) types for its Harpii Szpon (Harpy‘s Talon) requirement, Major General Cezary Wiśniewski said at the IFC 2024 in Berlin that the air force “is pushing very hard to find the money to bring this capability forward”.
With the Polish Air Force contracted to buy 32 F-35As under the Harpy programme, Harpy‘s Talon is designed to add affordable mass. International development efforts currently under way that Maj Gen Wiśniewski previously cited as being of interest to Poland included the Boeing MQ-28 Ghost Bat that is being led by the Royal Australian Air Force and the Collaborative Combat Aircraft project of the US Air Force (USAF).
On the subject of the USAF's CCA project, Maj Gen Wiśniewski said that the Polish Air Force is looking to see if it will be orientated towards operations in the Indo-Pacific region, or if it will be optimised for use in Europe.
