[25FMVU3751] Vehicle-Mounted Mortar Systems – Winter Demonstration
https://www.kommersannons.se/fmv/Notice ... ntId=51357
https://www.kommersannons.se/fmv/Notice ... ntId=51357
The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) invites defense industry partners to participate in a live demonstration event during week 13, 2026 to demonstrate their systems in Nordic winter conditions. Exact location and schedule will be provided to participants after registration.
The purpose of the event is to provide an opportunity for industry to present and demonstrate vehicle-mounted mortar systems and associated capabilities, to representatives from the Swedish Armed Forces, FMV and partner nations (to be defined).
An important objective is to enable industry partners to demonstrate their systems abilities in sub-arctic climate conditions and terrain. Since over-snow and off-road capabilities will differ between the vehicle mounted mortar systems the aim is to provide a variation of deployment and firing positions, including frozen gravel road, hard packed or softer snow, frozen or wet moor etc.
This is an opportunity to demonstrate performance in Nordic winter conditions and not a competition or evaluation. However, during the demonstrations, FMV Test and Evaluation will record the demonstration and conduct measurements.
The system of interest should meet the following baseline requirements:
- Vehicle-mounted
- The mortar system shall be integrated on a wheeled or tracked vehicle during the demonstration.
- Weapon
- The system shall be equipped with a 120 mm smooth bore tube.
- The system shall be capable of firing off the shelf 120 mm fin stabilized ammunition.
- Aiming system and navigation
- The mortar system shall have an integrated aiming system and not rely deployment of external reference equipment.
- The aiming system shall not be reliant on any type of GNSS such as GPS for positioning and aiming.
- Performance requirements
- The mortar system shall be able to be go into action and deploy the weapon, aim the weapon, fire three rounds and redeploy within 150 seconds.
- During the demonstration the system shall be operated and demonstrated by industry personnel.
