Slovenia and Lithuania confirm JLTV initial deliveries in 2021

Although the economic crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic has forced European militaries to consider cancelling or delaying their acquisition programmes, both Slovenia and Lithuania have confirmed that initial deliveries of the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) will take place as scheduled in 2021.

An Slovenian MoD spokesman explained to Shephard that original plans remain unchanged, with the Slovenian Armed Forces set to acquire nine platforms next year.

‘[The] COVID-19 crisis did not have any impact regarding the subject and the delivery plans,’ he pointed out.

Skupni stroški nakupa 38 vozil LKOV 4x4 z integrirano oborožitveno postajo, tehnično podporo in administrativnimi stroški bodo znašali 26,7 milijonov evrov brez DDV.

UNVEILING OF PROTECTOR RS4 CROWS IN SLOVENIA

The Slovenian Minister of Defence Mr. Matej Tonin proudly presented the Oshkosh JLTV, equipped with the KONGSBERG PROTECTOR RS CROWS Remote Weapon Station (RWS), procured through the US Government Foreign Military Sales. The 38 RWS is under production in Johnstown, Pennsylvania (US), and will be delivered in the fall. The acquisition is first in a series - and Slovenia will procure additional 36 systems in 2021.

Die bisher übernommenen LKOV 4x4 sind fabriksneu und eventuelle Schäden, die meist während des Transports entstanden sind, wurden behoben. Fehlende Teile werden von den USA auf Garantie geliefert.

Basierend auf der revidierten Studie über die Mittlere Bataillonskampfgruppe der Slowenischen Streitkräfte (Taktične študije srednje bataljonske skupine Slovenske vojske) wird eine zweite Tranche von 99 LKOV 4x4 beschafft. Deshalb wurde am 14. September 2021 ein Letter of Offer and Acceptance mit der US-Regierung über den Kauf von 37 Oshkosh JLTV unterzeichnet. Enthalten sind:

• 37 Oshkosh JLTV

• 36 Kongsberg M153

• Dokumentation

• Spezialwerkzeug

• Wartung und Ersatzteile

• Sonstige Ausrüstung

• Kosten: 33 Mio. EUR (ohne MWSt.)

Die Lieferungen sind für 2023 und 2024 vorgesehen.

Kosten für die komplette Tranche von 99 JLTV, inkl. Waffenstationen und C4I-Ausstattung, Ausbildung, Dokumentation, Werkzeuge, Wartungsausrüstung, Ersatzteile (für 2 Jahre), Munition, technischer und Projektsupport durch die US-Regierung: 115 Mio. EUR (ohne MWSt.) bzw. 137 Mio. EUR (inkl. MWSt.).
