NSPA Concludes Procurement of Night Vision & Optoelectronics Equipment for Lithuanian Armed Forces

NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) successfully concluded the procurement of Night Vision & Optoelectronics (NVO) equipment, associated training and documentation for the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

The equipment was delivered to Lithuania for the Tactical Air Control Party and Forward Observer programme between May and August 2020.

Lithuanian Armed Forces Forward Observers (FO) teams were equipped with Safran Electronics & Defense multifunctional cameras, true north finder, binoculars, celestial body orientation module, IR spectrum markers, strobe marker light, handheld computer

Lithuanian Armed Forces Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) teams were equipped with Safran Electronics & Defense multipurpose target locator, multifunctional camera, laser target designator, IR spectrum marker, strobe marker light, handheld computer.

The Netherlands Armed Forces have a need for Image Intensifier Night Vision Goggles IINVG's). These IINVG 's will be used by a wide variety of user groups during operations and reconnaissance.

The IINVG 's will be used by all four military forces, Army, Navy, Airforce and Military Police. The deployment area will vary from open fields, forest and desert to urban terrain; all with low light conditions with various residual light levels.
The tender comprises a framework agreement for delivery and a framework agreement for maintenance.

Rahmenvertrag: Rheinmetall liefert neuen Gefechtshelm an die Bundeswehr

Rheinmetall und sein strategischer Partner, der nordamerikanische Helmhersteller Galvion, sind von der Bundeswehr mit der Lieferung eines modernen Gefechtshelmes beauftragt worden. Der im November 2020 erteilte Rahmenvertrag sieht die Lieferung von bis zu 20.000 Stück des Modells Gefechtshelm Spezialkräfte schwer vor. Ein erster Abruf von 5.000 Helmen erfolgte bereits im November 2020. Die Auslieferung erfolgt über Rheinmetall Soldier Electronics in Stockach, als Spezialist für Laser-Licht-Module bestens in der Branche für Soldatenausstattung vernetzt.

Der Rahmenvertrag läuft bis 2025. Optional ist die Verlängerung um zwei Jahre möglich. Der potentielle Gesamtauftragswert liegt im niedrigen zweistelligen MioEUR-Bereich.

Die neuen Gefechtshelme bieten verbesserten Schutz und hohen Tragekomfort – insbesondere mit pegelabhängigem Gehörschutz und Nachtsichtgeräten. Damit steigern sie erheblich die Kampfkraft des infanteristisch kämpfenden Soldaten. Die Helme sind unter anderem für die Spezial- und spezialisierten Kräfte mit Erweiterter Grundbefähigung für Spezialoperationen (EGB-Kräfte) vorgesehen. Auch ein Einsatz bei der NATO-Speerspitze VJTF 2023 ist angedacht.

Elbit Systems Awarded $50 Million Contract to Supply Additional Digital Soldier Systems to the Royal Netherlands Army

Haifa, Israel, December 16, 2020 – Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: ESLT, TASE: ESLT) (“Elbit Systems”) announced today that it was awarded an approximately $50 million follow-on contract from the Dutch Ministry of Defence (“Dutch MOD”) to supply the Royal Netherlands Army (“RNLA”) with additional digital soldier and vehicular systems, expanding the soldier modernization program of the RNLA. The contract will be performed over a three-year period.

Under the contract, Elbit Systems will supply digital soldier systems and vehicular integration of improved combat network capabilities including TORCH-X Dismounted Command and Control systems and E-LynX Software Defines Radio systems. The solutions to be provided were designed to address unique requirements that were presented by the Netherlands’ Defence Material Organization and field-tested by RNLA troops.
