UNIMOG U 4000 OBH
The DaimlerChrysler UNIMOG U 4000 OBH is the component for heavy
terrain
of the Swap Body (or interchangeable body) System of the Austrian Armed
Forces. UNIMOGs have been known for their reliability, robustness and
cross-country mobility for decades. The U 4000 is part of the UNIMOG
production series 437.4 presented in 2002. In 2005 the Austrian Armed
Forces bought 268 vehicles.
The Swap Body System comprises of the UNIMOG U 4000 all terrain
truck, the MAN 12.240 truck for transportation on roads, the Swap Bodies
made by EMPL and accessories like a swap body trailer and a winch system
to change the swap bodies even in the field.
