Der Sch\u00fctzenpanzer Ulan ist die \u00f6sterreichische Variante des ASCOD und stellt das Ergebnis einer mehrj\u00e4hrigen Zusammenarbeit von zwei namhaften Herstellern von Panzerfahrzeugen in Europa dar – der Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzeug AG und der spanischen General Dynamics \/ Santa Barbara Sistemas (GDSBS). „ASCOD“ steht demnach f\u00fcr Austrian-Spanish Co-operative Development. Die spanische Version wird als „Pizarro“ bezeichnet.
\nIm April 1999 beschaffte das \u00d6sterreichische Bundesheer 112 Ulan mit dem stabilisierten Steyr SP-30 Gefechtsturm um etwa 3,1 Mrd. Schilling (etwa 225 Mio. Euro). Der Zulauf zur Truppe erfolgte in den Jahren 2002 bis 2004.<\/p>\n

IFV Ulan (ASCOD)<\/strong>
\nInfantry Fighting Vehicle \/ Mechanised Infantry Combat Vehicle. The Ulan is the Austrian variant of the ASCOD – the result of a co-operation between two European companies specialized in the development of armoured vehicles – the Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzeug AG (AUT) and the Spanish General Dynamics \/ Santa Barbara Sistemas (GDSBS). The Spanish variant is called „Pizarro“. The Austrian Armed Forces ordered 112 vehicles with the stabilized Steyr SP-30 two-man-turret in 1999. The first vehicles were delivered in 2002.
