Diese Exportversion des CH-53 ist in \u00d6sterreich besser bekannt als S-65OE f\u00fcr &#8222;<em>Oe<\/em>sterreich&#8220;. Das Heer erhielt die damals top-modernen und leistungsf\u00e4higen Hubschrauber bereits kurz nachdem der Erstkunde, das US Marine Corps, die ersten Maschinen \u00fcbernommen hatte. Technisch entspricht der Typ weitgehend dem CH-53C der USAF mit der Rettungswinde des HH-53B\/C.<br \/>\nNach einer Dienstzeit von knapp \u00fcber 10 Jahren beim Bundesheer wurden die Hubschrauber an Israel verkauft. Begr\u00fcndet wurde diese Entscheidung mit den hohen Betriebskosten und dem geringen Einsatzbedarf. The type is similar to the CH-53C model for the USAF, but fittet with the rescue hook of the HH-53B\/C.
