Eher Europas größtes Waffen- und Munitionslager. Ich kann mir beim besten Willen nicht vorstellen, wo das Personal herkommen soll, das all diese Waffensysteme bedient.

Richtig. Und nach allem, was man hört, wissen die Polen selbst nicht, wie sie das alles bezahlen sollen. Ganz abgesehen davon zeigt die Situation in der Ukraine, dass bei Systemen wie HIMARS die Munition der limitierende Faktor ist. Ich bin ja wirklich ein Fan von Reservenbildung, und es macht durchaus Sinn, mit Materialansätzen von 130% bis 150% zu planen. Aber diese Anzahl an Werfern ist sinnbefreit, solange Polen nicht beginnt, die entsprechende Munition selbst herzustellen, und zwar in einem mindestens den USA ebenbürtigen Umfang (!), wenn nicht mehr. Die PiS befindet sich derzeit ohne erkennbaren Sachverstand auf Shoppingtour.

Polen hat den Vertrag für die Lkw unterzeichnet, auf denen die HOMAR-K aufgebaut werden. Es handelt sich um 198 Fahrgestelle im Wert von 1,5 Mrd. PLN brutto. Sie sollen 2024-2027 geliefert werden.

South Korean loan for Poland arms deal does not exist, says PM

A South Korean loan to Poland to finance arms deals does not actually exist, Poland's prime minister said on Wednesday, although the new government hopes to still continue with the purchases.

"There was a problem with the Korean purchases... a significant part of the Korean purchases was to be financed by a loan that Korea was to grant," Donald Tusk told a news conference.

"In the end it turned out that there was some misunderstanding... it turned out that there was no Korean loan."

Tusk said that Warsaw would review its defence contracts but intended to continue with them.

"I really hope there won't be anything there that would make us revise some of them," he said.

Hanwha Aerospace’s Chunmoo multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) is part of a multipronged “kill chain” war machine that aims to destroy North Korea’s ability to launch attacks on the south in the event of a conflict. Included in the Chunmoo arsenal are the CGR-080 guided rocket and the CTM-290 guided missile, with ranges of 80 km and 290 km, respectively.

Poland was unwilling to wait for delivery of U.S. High-Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (Himars), instead acquiring 288 Chunmoo systems with the CGR-080 and CTM-290 rounds. Saudi Arabia also purchased an undisclosed number of Chunmoos in February 2022.

A representative from Hanwha’s precision-guided munition division told Aviation Week at the exhibition that its guided systems are not integrated with NATO or U.S. equipment. Although it is ”technically possible” to install the missiles onto Western platforms such as Lockheed Martin’s Himars, the U.S. has not released relevant source codes that would allow such integration. In the case of South Korea’s export to Poland, such source codes were not even a requirement.

The CTM-290 has a diameter of 600 mm, compared to the Lockheed MGM-140 Army Tactical Missile System’s 610 mm.

The representative added that Hanwha is in discussions for further sales with a number of NATO states in Europe—and these countries also have no intention of integrating them with the NATO systems.
