Regarding the acquisition of artillery, Brig Gen Frisell said, "Additional Archer 155 mm self-propelled howitzers will be delivered this year, bringing the [army's] total to 48 guns. The 2021-25 defence bill calls for the procurement of additional 24 Archers for divisional artillery in the coming years." He added that he expects the additional Archers to be mounted on Volvo articulated haulers or trucks, recalling that one was shown at the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2019 exhibition in London, mounted on a Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) HX2 8x8 truck.

Looking further into the future, Brig Gen Frisell said, "A bataillon's worth of rocket artillery may be included in Sweden's next [2026-30] defence bill and the FMV has started to study these systems." He added that he hoped for the development of an improved Bonus round in co-operation with France, also citing interest from the United States, where Bofors is among the companies competing for the US Army's next mobile howitzer shoot-off.

Regeringen föreslår därutöver ett återinrättande av Dalregementet (I 13) i Falun, Västernorrlands regemente (I 22) i Sollefteå och Bergslagens artilleriregemente (A 9) i Kristinehamn med Villingsberg som skjutfält. Som en följd av förslagen kommer Amfibieregementet i Berga att byta namn till Stockholms amfibieregemente samt Artilleriregementet i Boden att återigen benämnas Bodens artilleriregemente (A 8).

26. En utökad grundorganisation

Riksdagen bemyndigar regeringen att under perioden 2021–2025 återinrätta Norrlands dragonregemente (K 4) i Arvidsjaur, Älvsborgs amfibieregemente (Amf 4) i Göteborg, Upplands flygflottilj (F 16) i Uppsala, Bergslagens artilleriregemente (A 9) i Kristinehamn, Dalregementet (I 13) i Falun och Västernorrlands regemente (I 21) i Sollefteå, med utbildningsdetachementet i Östersund, som egna organisationsenheter, med inriktningen att Dalregementet (I 13) i Falun och Västernorrlands regemente (I 21) i Sollefteå återinrättas senast 2022 och når full kapacitet i perioden 2026–2030.

Försvarsmaktens uppdrag var även att förstärka förmågan till indirekt eld genom etablering av en divisionsartilleribataljon med eldrörsartilleri.

Finland and Sweden have agreed upon an arrangement to jointly procure long-range ammunition from a strategic partner of the Finnish Defence Forces, aerospace and defence company Nammo Lapua.

With the signed executive document Finland and Sweden will create the prerequisites for the joint procurement of long-range ammunition. The document was signed on the 29th of June 2022, and for Finland, it was signed by the Chief of the Defence Forces Logistics Command, Major General (Eng.) Kari Renko with the authorisation of the Minister of Defence, and for Sweden, by the Director of Land Systems at the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), Brigadier General Mikael Frisell.
