Danish Defence Forces have signed a seven year framework agreement with PT Defence for the supply of platform based sensor systems. The sensor system was developed in collaboration with PT Defence, US defence company Teledyne FLIR and Comrod.
A key part of the package is the telescopic mast used to raise the sensor system. Comrod will be supplying small footprint, high-end telescopic masts for multiple vehicle platforms. Comrod masts will be remote controlled by the new CAPAS MC control unit, providing automation and flexible connectivity in a robust and small control box.
Teledyne FLIR Defense Captures Large, Multi-Year Contract to Provide Medium- and Long-Range Surveillance Systems to Danish Defense Forces
BOSTON, January 24, 2022 ― Teledyne FLIR Defense, part of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY), together with its Denmark-based partner Precision Technic Defence Group, announced that they have signed a seven-year framework agreement with the Danish Defense Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) to provide a variety of medium- and long-range surveillance systems for land, maritime and airborne applications. DALO also has awarded the companies a service and maintenance contract.
The potential contract value is estimated to exceed $100 million over the period of performance.
Teledyne FLIR has offered its SeaFLIR®/TacFLIR® 280-HDEP and SeaFLIR/TacFLIR 380 HLD-X advanced day/night, all-weather imaging systems. The contract allows DALO to procure versions of these products for the Danish Defense Mobile Sensor Systems program, which supports the surveillance needs of its Army, Air Force and Navy users.
Das dänische Heer soll ein neues Fliegerabwehrsystem erhalten. Seit 2009, als das System "Stinger" mit Terma A/S als Systemintegrator ausgeliefert worden ist, war das Heer nicht mehr für die Fliegerabwehr zuständig. FMI hat in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Streitkräftekommando (Forsvarskommando) seit 2021 eine Marktuntersuchung durchgeführt. Vorrangiges Ziel ist die Erfüllung des NATO-Fähigkeitsziels im Bereich VSHORAD: Es sollen Verbände bis zur Größenordnung einer Brigade geschützt werden können, inklusive der dazugehörigen Führungseinrichtungen und Einheiten im Einsatzraum.
Deshalb muss das neue System mindestens folgende Komponenten umfassen:
C2-System
Waffensysteme kurzer Reichweite inklusive Sensoren für Detektion, Warnung und Identifikation
Es soll ausreichend dimensioniert sein, um in den Brigadeeinsatz und die Luftverteidigung integriert zu werden und mit anderen Fliegerabwehrsystemen im Rahmen einer geschichteten Luftverteidigung zusammenarbeiten zu können, z.B. durch standardisierte Kommunikationssysteme.
Derzeit ist noch keine Entscheidung über die Lieferanten der Subsysteme gefallen. Die Gesamtintegration soll durch ein dänisches Unternehmen erfolgen, deswegen wurde entschieden, Verhandlungen mit Terma A/S aufzunehmen. Dazu gehört auch der Abschluss einer Rahmenvereinbarung zur Integration des Luftverteidigungssystems, inklusive des Führungssystems für die Brigade, mit einer Laufzeit von 30 Jahren. Eine entsprechende Rahmenvereinbarung mit Terma A/S soll auch für Support, Betrieb und Wartung des Systems abgeschlossen werden. Der Abschluss ist für Anfang 2023 geplant.
Luftværn til Brigaden: FMI underskriver aftale med Terma
Luftværnssystemet skal baseres på Termas kommando- og kontrolsystem (C2-system), der blandt andet, via integration med forskellige sensorer og kommunikationssystemer, kan forbinde flere enheder.
Luftværnssystemet forventes monteret på køretøjer bl.a. af typen Piranha 5, der er et standardkøretøj i Hæren.
Terma Signs Framework Agreement with Danish Defence on System Integration and Maintenance for Integrated Air and Missile Defense System
The Danish Defence Aquisition and Logistics Organisation has signed an agreement with the largest defense company in Denmark, Terma. This agreement means that Terma will be responsible for system integration of the complete air defense system, and advisor on all future air and missile defense procurements across the Danish Defence for the next 30 years.
As part of the current defense agreement, DALO is to procure an air defense system for the Danish Defence compliant to NATO requirements for the Very Short-Range Air Defence (VSHORAD) capability that forms part of Denmark's medium brigade which is a NATO force target. This VSHORAD system can be procured through this new Framework Agreement.
The overall air defense system consists of several subsystems, such as radars, vehicles, and weapons. Under the agreement, Terma will integrate these subsystems into a single air defense system. Many of the subsystems are off-the-shelf items procured by DALO through existing framework agreements and integrated into the overall air defense system by Terma.
This framework agreement places Terma as the prime supplier of all command-and-control software, systems integration and maintenance within integrated air and missile defense for the Danish Army and Air Force. As system house, Terma assumes full responsibility for the overall integration and maintenance. Terma already has the same role on an existing contract with The Royal Danish Navy.

Efter FMI’s vurdering kan effektor-kapaciteten kun anskaffes fra Rheinmetall, da denne leverandør vurderes kunne imødekomme de særlige brugerkrav til en integreret effektorløsning med High Velocity kanon inklusiv kanonammunition, en Fire and Forget missilløsning samt integreret detektions- og ildledelsesteknologi. Endvidere er det afgørende, at Forsvarets operative behov imødekommes hurtigst muligt. FMI vurderer derfor, at betingelserne i forsvarsdirektivets artikel 28, stk. 1, litra e, for at anvende udbud med forhandling uden forudgående offentliggørelse af en udbudsbekendtgørelse, er opfyldt.
