Italy ups planned Pegasus tanker purchase
Italy will increase its planned purchase of Boeing KC-46A Pegasus aerial refuelling tankers to six aircraft, up from two previously.

Warum sollten die Italiener jetzt auf Airbus umsteigen, es sei denn, sie wären mit der KC-46 nicht zufrieden? Logistisch wäre es unsinnig.

Airbus rein, Boeing raus - Italien bekommt sechs neue Tankflugzeuge
Keine KC-46A für Italien: Anstatt des Boeing-Pannentankers bestellen die italienischen Luftstreitkräfte das Konkurrenzmodell von Airbus. Sechs A330 MRTT Multi-Role Tanker Transport (KC-30M) sollen es werden - 1,4 Milliarden Euro inkl. Logistik und Wartung für zehn Jahre. Transport von 267 Soldaten mit voller Ausrüstung. Für Betankungsmissionen bis 111 Tonnen Treibstoff.
