Lettland: Seezielflugkörper Kongsberg NSM

Rumänien der nächste Kunde für die Kongsberg NSM. Das lettische Verteidigungsministerium hat Anfang September angekündigt, dass es am 9. August den Beschluss gefasst hat, mit den USA Verhandlungen über die Beschaffung dieses Flugkörpersystems aufzunehmen. Ursprünglich haben sich fünf Unternehmen um den Auftrag beworben:

Es dürfte sich um ein fahrzeuggestütztes System handeln, wie es bereits in Polen in Verwendung ist.
Estland hat sich vor einem Jahr für die IAI Blue Spear entschieden.

LATVIA – NAVAL STRIKE MISSILE COASTAL DEFENSE SYSTEM
The Government of Latvia has requested to buy a Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defense System (NSM CDS), including tactical, telemetered, and training missiles; containers; mobile operational platforms; integration equipment; ordnance handling equipment (OHE); training equipment and aids; technical publications and data; training; spares; U.S. Government and contractor technical and product support or assistance; and other related elements of logistical and program support. The estimated total cost is $110 million.
The principal contractor is to be determined. There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale.

Latvia and USA sign an agreement on purchase of Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defence Systems (9. Dezember 2023)
On Friday, 8 December, Defence Minister Andris Sprūds and Ambassador of the United States of America to Latvia, H.E. Mr Christopher Robinson, announced the agreement on purchase of Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defence Systems produced by Norwegian company Kongsberg and the US manufacturer Raytheon.
The total cost of the procurement will reach USD 105 million. US will also provide major financial support in the acquisition of Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defence Systems, covering 70% of the total costs, while Latvia will cover the remaining 30% of agreed costs.
Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defence Systems will be delivered in 2027.

Contracts for March 13, 2026
Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace, Kongsberg, Norway, is awarded a $45,544,458 firm-fixed-price contract for a Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defense System for the Republic of Latvia. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $56,344,728. This contract involves Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to Latvia. Work will be performed in Kongsberg, Norway (63%); Kangasala, Finland (9%); Turin, Italy (9%); Andøya, Norway (3%); Billingstad, Norway (2%); Vigrestad, Norway (1%); Hvidovre, Denmark (1%); Cambridge, United Kingdom (1%); and various locations all less than 1% (11%), and is expected to be completed by July 2030. If all options are exercised, work will continue through November 2031. FMS (Latvia) funds in the amount of $45,544,458 will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured in accordance with 10 U.S. Code 3204(a)(4) (international agreement). Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-26-C-5432).
