The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to provide the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency with a more in depth knowledge of the market with respect to potential bidders, technical performance, price, and lead-time for delivery. The gathered information can be used to determine the project feasibility as well as to define the projects technical and functional requirements, budget and time frame.
NDMA is currently in process of procuring an “Observation and Target Acquisition System“(OTAS) for integration on the armoured tracked vehicle. The main users will be the maneuver battalions in the Norwegian army.
The main goal for the procurement is to support the Norwegian Armed Forces with observation and target acquisition capability with sufficient range and accuracy to be utilized in all types of operations, both national and international. The primary use will be observation and target acquisition.
The OTAS will include education and all necessary maintenance and support equipment to utilize the system. Platform and communication equipment for the system is delivered as Government Furnished Equipment, which the bidder must ensure proper integration to. The System should meet an expected lifetime of 15 years; the bidder must be able to support / maintain and deliver spare parts throughout the lifetime of the system. All products are expected to be produced for military use, and meet normal military specifications.
The information received from this Request for Information will be used for evaluating the commercial availability of such systems.

FLIR Systems Announces $11 Million in Orders From BAE Systems to Support Norwegian Army (18. Juli 2012)

(NASDAQ: FLIR) announced today that it has received $11 million in orders from BAE Systems in Sweden for thermal imaging systems that will be installed on Norwegian Army CV90 combat vehicles. FLIR's ThermoSight LIRC sighting systems as well as SA90 and DV55 driver vision/situational awareness (DV/SA) thermal imaging systems will be integrated into BAE Systems CV9030 combat vehicles.
The FLIR ThermoSight LIRC and DV/SA products are field-proven thermal systems that feature advanced long-range thermal imaging performance, real-time image enhancement, and a best-in-class input reaction time. Deliveries under this order are expected to begin in 2014 and will add to the number of systems that are already deployed on the CV90 platform for various end users.

ALVIS HÄGGLUNDS AWARDED UPGRADE OF CV9030N FOR THE NORWEGIAN ARMED FORCES
The Norwegian defence logistic organisation has awarded a contract to Alvis Hägglunds for the upgrade of 17 CV9030N vehicles. The upgraded CV9030s will be equipped with an extensive additional mine protection kit as well as an air cooling system and a rear view camera.
