This is HMS Glasgow - the first of the City class/Type 26 frigates - nearing completion (outwardly at least) on the hardstanding at BAE's Govan yard.

The main mast of the 7,000-tonne anti-submarine frigate - replacement for the dedicated ASW Type 23s - has also been delivered to the Clyde, ready for installation.

Events in the Red Sea really do highlight the need for sea to land capability. So today I can announce that in the future we will be equipping our Type 26 and Type 31 frigates with land strike capability.
