II.4) Short description of nature and scope of works or nature and quantity or value of supplies or services:

The NLD Ministry of Defence uses the beach armoured recovery vehicle, a variant build upon a Leopard-1. The replacement of this equipment is foreseen in 15 years. NLD MoD is looking into options to sustain this capability in the meantime. To achieve this we study two options:

1) an update of the current BARV vehicles; or

2) replacing these vehicles by developing a new variant of the Leopard-2.

The reactions on this request for information will, next to other arguments, be used to decide upon the options.
