The order value is approximately SEK 1.5 billion and deliveries are scheduled 2027-2028. This order was booked in Q2 2025.
The order also includes equipment which will enable the Swedish Armed Forces to integrate the system on a Mobile Short-Range Air Defence (MSHORAD) solution in the future.
The command and control and the sensor systems continue to build on previous deliveries to FMV to strengthen the Swedish ground-based air defence. In addition to the command-and-control system (LSS Lv) and the Giraffe 1X radar, the order consists of weapon system integration, studies and spare parts.
The contract also includes an integration study to complement the ground-based air defence system for brigades with Giraffe AMB radar for medium-range surveillance.
Insgesamt werden 2 Mrd. SEK (181 Mio. EUR) für weitere Fliegerabwehrsysteme IRIS-T SLS (Eldenhet 98) und 1,5 Mrd. SEK (136 Mio. EUR) für 16 Basisfahrzeuge mit Startplattform, 8 Radarsysteme, ein Führungssystem und Ersatzteile aufgewendet. Die neue Brigadefliegerabwehr wird beim Norrbottens regemente I 19 und beim Skaraborgs regemente P 4 implementiert.

Försvarets materielverk har tecknat ett avtal om 2 miljarder kronor för inköp av luftvärnssystemet IRIS-T: Eldenhet 98. Därtill tillkommer 1,5 miljarder kronor för anskaffning av fordon och övriga system som krävs för att montera och använda roboten.

Swedish Armed Forces to invest in more air defence capability

The procurement consists of the following materiel:
- IRIS-T SLS launchers (rocket launch system for robots)
- Giraffe 1X short-range radar systems
- Platoon command vehicles
- Company command vehicles
- Command and control centres
- Modifications to existing IRIS-T SLS systems so they can be part of the air defence brigade
- Integration operations
- Spare parts
- Education
