On December 13, the Spanish Army received the first six Castor Combat Engineer Vehicles (VCZAP) during a ceremony at our factory in Alcalá de Guadaira, Seville. This delivery is part of a larger contract that includes a total of 36 vehicles, with the remaining 30 scheduled for delivery throughout 2024.

GDELS Santa Bárbara Sistemas has delivered four #ASCOD “#Castor” Armored Combat Vehicles (#VCZAP) to the Spanish Army of the second phase #Pizarro program that will allow Spanish engineering units to have the most advanced and modern material to carry out their tasks and missions.

The availability of the armored vehicles and their dozer blades took place at our factory of GDELS Santa Bárbara Sistemas factory in Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville) on March 5, whereas the reception was carried out by personnel from the Spanish MOD #Pizarro Program Office and the Armored Systems Park and Maintenance Center (#PCMASA) number 1 of the Spanish Army.

Therefore, the “#Castor” vehicles have become property of #PCMASA and transferred to the Zaragoza, Burgos and Madrid.

The contract signed between the Spanish Ministry of Defense and GDELS Santa Bárbara Sistemas contemplates the delivery of 1 prototype and 35 more “#Castor” vehicles, with their respective dozer blades.

In December 2023, the first 6 vehicles in the series were delivered, so to date, in addition to the prototype, 10 series vehicles have been delivered.

It is planned to complete deliveries of all units throughout 2024
