Eurosatory 2026: BAE Systems Hägglunds makes best and final offer for CV90 MkIV Nordic initiative
BAE Systems Hägglunds made its best and final offer on 16 June for the five nation Swedish-led Nordic initiative to jointly procure CV90 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), a company spokesperson confirmed to Janes the following day.

The five Nordic initiative countries are Finland, Norway, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Sweden. Six countries signed a technical agreement in November 2025 defining the programme-specific principles of co-operation, technical requirements, and an agreed action plan until the signing of the main contract in 2026. The sixth country, Estonia, cancelled its combat vehicle procurement programme in favour of air defence and unmanned systems in April.

Sweden is negotiating the CV90MkIV Nordic contract with BAE Systems. CV90 deliveries to participants are planned beginning in 2028.

Speaking to journalists including Janes on the first day of the Eurosatory 2026 defence exhibition held in Paris on 15-19 June, BAE Systems Hägglunds director for business development Peter Nygren estimated the number of CV90 MkIVs that would be procured under the Nordic initiative at over 400 vehicles.

He said 1,950 CV90s have so far been contracted, of which 650 are on order, including around 400 for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
