The Ministry of National Defence has finished the procurement of the Boxer-Vilkas IFVs: last vehicles arrived in Lithuania late last year completing the delivery of the 89 purchased Infantry Fighting Vehicles and 2 prototype vehicles. Two battalions of the Iron Wolf Brigade have been full furnished with the new equipment.
The ministry of National Defence conducted intense negotiations with the manufacturers in 2021-2022 agreeing on the desired system upgrades and additional test trials because the Vilkas IFVs delivered by 2020 had flaws. As a result of the upgrades, all the Vilkas IFVs have no operation restrictions since late 2022.
https://kam.lt/en/our-infantry-fighting ... he-wolves/The Vilkas project conducted under contracts signed back in 2016 has cost Lithuania approx. EUR 670 million. The amount covers not just the IFVs but also logistical support, spare parts and the ammunition in full.

The Ministry of National Defence plans purchasing over 120 more Boxer IFVs for the Lithuanian Armed Forces. The required information for the successive acquisition has been presented to OCCAR and consulted about with ARTEC. The Defence Materiel Agency under the MoD is waiting for ARTEC to formulate the commercial offer to enter the next phase of negotiations.
The final series production vehicle of the Lithuania BOXER (VILKAS) order successfully passed its Live Fire Testing on 24 February 2024. This was an important milestone, marking the last step of the handover procedure for this vehicle and thus concludes the acceptance of the Batch 1 series production vehicles.
In total, the OCCAR BOXER Programme has delivered 91 BOXER vehicles in 4 different variants to the Lithuanian customer, who is now the first nation to have a BOXER with a 30mm gun.

https://www.occar.int/news/boxer-contra ... thuania--2Bonn/Germany, 11 October 2024 – The OCCAR-EA Director, Mr. Joachim Sucker, signed on behalf of Lithuania the BOXER Contract Amendment 16 with the BOXER Industry partner ARTEC GmbH – a joint venture between Rheinmetall Land Systems and KNDS.
This significant investment secures a further 27 BOXER vehicles with associated initial logistics support for the Lithuanian Ministry of Defence, increasing their current BOXER fleet to over 110 vehicles. Noteworthy is that this investment allows a new BOXER mission module variant to be brought into service.
An engineering variant will be developed and will provide the Lithuanian army with significantly improved tactical mobility, directly integrating engineering equipment (such as that used for mine clearance) into the existing Lithuanian Infantry Fighting Vehicle configuration.
