Es sollten Beobachtungssysteme für umgerechnet 38,5 Mio. EUR angeschafft werden. Die Geräte wurden am 16. Dezember 2024 ausgeschrieben, da aber nach der Auswertung nur der Antrag eines Bieters die Anforderungen erfüllt hat, wurde die Ausschreibung wegen mangelnden Wettbewerbs abgesagt. Es ist nun eine neuerliche Ausschreibung geplant, welche Feuerleitsysteme und Zubehör, nordsuchende Laserkreisel und Zubehör sowie Ersatzteile und Instandhaltung umfassen soll:
Technical Specification for Forward Observer System hat geschrieben:3. System description
The procurement object, Forward Observer System (FOS), is intended for dismounted forward observer squads in the Swedish Armed Forces (SwAF) for observation, target classification, target acquisition and directing indirect fire in all operational lighting conditions and under time critical conditions. Reports generated from the FOS are transmitted to a C2 system for further distribution. The FOS is a lightweight system to be carried long distances and will mainly be used in subarctic climate.
The FOS will be procured in two configurations:
- The standard configuration will consist of a FOS sensor (electrooptic binocular with built-in Laser Range Finder (LRF), compass and inclination sensor (DMC), GPS receiver, thermal channel and direct view optical (DVO) channel, central processing unit (CPU) and software). The FOS sensor kit (including accessories) is described in TR_1.
- For forward observer squads that require high precision target acquisition (CAT I capability), a True North Finder (TNF) module add-on will be procured. The TNF add-on kit (including accessories) is described in TR_2.
