Changes to UH-60M buy are revealed in a new US Congressional notification for the acquisition. Austria has been cleared for a second time for the possible acquisition of 12 Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawks in what appears to be a specification upgrade of the same number of helicopters it ordered in 2024.

The Government of Austria has requested to buy twelve (12) UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters with twenty-six (26) T700-GE-701D engines; fifteen (15) AN/AAR-57 Counter Missile Warning Systems (CMWS); and thirty (30) H-764U Embedded Global Positioning Systems with Inertial Navigation (EGI) with country-unique selective availability anti-spoofing modules (or Future M-Code replacement). Ich auch nicht. Habs gestern durchgerechnet. Mit den 60HS und Klarstand 66% bekommen wir Galtür hin - Nutzlasten annähernd vergleichbar. Schon jetzt kaum ein Land das absolut oder im Größenvergleich auf unsere HS Kapazitäten kommt.
Wir können keine 5m³ Luftraum für 24h sichern, Flugabwehrraketen für einen Vormittag, feiern uns für 300 Drohnen beschafft in vier Jahren ab, aber mit den HS den Himmel verdunkeln....i checks ned.

Hat halt mit "Landesverteidigung" eher nix mehr zu tun wenn jeder Landeshauptmann seine eigene Staffel will....

• Wir rüsten jetzt nur 5 UH-60M vollständig aus? Der Rest bekommt kein Selbstschutzsystem? Ist das unsere Vorstellung von verteidigungsfähig?

• Dafür kommen M134 Miniguns, die wir in Österreich vom OH58 kennen, für die Doorgunner.

• Deutliche Kostenerhöhung von 1,05 Mrd auf 1,50 Mrd. USD - Normalerweise werden die Kosten immer sehr großzügig angegeben und haben nichts mit den Vertragsvolumen zu tun, aber da wird man ein Auge darauf werfen müssen.
