Da es erst ein RFI, aber noch keine Ausschreibung gegeben hat, wird bis zu einer Entscheidung über eine Lösung für FüIS und BMS wohl noch ziemlich viel Zeit vergehen.

Battlefield Management System (BMS)
Das BMS ist eine essentielle Komponente im Aufklärungs-Führungs-Wirkungsverbund. Es vernetzt die gefechtstechnischen Führungsebenen für die Erfassung, Verteilung und Darstellung ebenengerechter Führungsinformation.
Es dient der Positionsbestimmung und Orientierung, der Darstellung eigener und feindlicher Kräfte, der graphischen Befehlsgebung und unterstützt Zielerfassung und Wirkung. Im ÖBH wird seit einigen Jahren beim JaKdo ein BMS erfolgreich eingesetzt. Zur Vorbereitung der Einführung in den gesamten Landstreitkräften wurde bereits 2021 eine Verfahrenserprobung beim JgB18 in Zusammenarbeit mit HTS und der Abteilung IKTS durchgeführt.
Ein entsprechendes Beschaffungsvorhaben wurde eingeleitet. Zuschlag, Güteprüfung und Beginn der Einführung sind 2024 geplant.

Transportflieger, Stadtregionalbahn Linz und Leistungsvereinbarungen dominieren Vorbelastungen im 2. Quartal 2024
Zudem wurden im zweiten Quartal 2024 Vorbelastungen in Höhe von insgesamt 2,770 Mrd. € genehmigt. Den größten Anteil davon macht die Beschaffung von vier Stück Transportflugzeugen "EMBREAR C-390 Millenium" aus, wofür 937,0 Mio. € eingeplant sind. Zusätzlich wurden beim Bundesheer 79,7 Mio. € für den Bau einer neuen militärischen Krankenanstalt in Innsbruck veranschlagt. Des Weiteren wurden Vorbelastungen beim Bundesheer von 53,3 Mio. € für die Beschaffung eines Führungsinformationssystems und eines Battlefield Management Systems genehmigt.

In this role you will be part of a small team consisting of different technical roles. We expect the team to grow over time as the project grows. You will report directly to the Program Manager for Defence Services Central Europe based in Cologne, Germany and therefore have a close collaboration with our teams across Central Europe.
Be a key player delivering critical software product to the costumer
As a project manager, you will take an important role and be a key player in delivering our SitaWare Suite to our Defence customers mainly in Austria, but also Support tasks in projects within Central Europe. You will be a vital part of implementing the SitaWare Suite throughout the Austrian Armed Forced using an agile methodology. Also, you will have general administrative tasks as a people manager and contribute as sales support in expanding our offerings across Central Europe.
Your key tasks:
drive agile project management including people management for the local team
coordinate activities between the service delivery team, the customer and our headquarter in Denmark
manage projects through KPIs, management briefings, business committee meetings etc
collaborate with the Account Manager in sales activities, such as sales meetings, proposal writings, and ensuring technical support and material for workshops
combine your customer and business understanding with your technical insights
You should expect approx. 10-20 days of travelling to our headquarter in Denmark or Germany a year.
Experienced project manager with domain knowledge
a technical degree at Master’s level
5+ years of experience as Project Manager in rollout and system integration projects
proven results running complex IT projects (FFP and T&M) in a busy working environment
leadership experience and know how to coach and motivate people
experience with external customer contact
experience with budgets and numbers
having background in Defence (e.g., military veteran or having worked in the Defence domain previously) is beneficial.
