Belgien beschafft MQ-9B Sky Guardian

In Florennes entsteht ein neuer Hangar für die zwei Systeme MQ-9B SkyGuardian (4 UAV, 2 Bodenkontrollstationen, 1 Simulator). Das Gebäude besteht aus einem Verwaltungsbereich (Büros, Garderoben, ...), einem Betriebsbereich, in dem die Bodenkontrollstationen untergebracht sind, und einem Wartungshangar. Die erste Ground Control Station und die ersten MQ-9B sollen 2024 geliefert werden.

Die belgische Luftwaffe hat für 1,2 Mio. EUR zwei neue verlegbare Shelter für die MQ-9 übernommen. Sie bestehen aus einem Zelt, einer Klimaanlage (HVAC) und einem elektrischen Falttor. Jeder dieser Shelter kann ein UAV windgeschützt aufnehmen und ist für Auslandseinsätze vorgesehen. Die Systeme wurden am 29. Juli 2024 vom deutschen Hersteller LANCO in 24 Containern an die Field Accomodation Unit (FAU) in Beauchevain geliefert:

Belgium – Hellfire Missiles

The Government of Belgium has requested to buy up to two hundred forty (240) Hellfire missiles (AGM-114R2). The following non-MDE items will also be included: U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; support equipment; communications and training equipment; ammunition, spare parts, consumables, accessories, and repair and return support; facility design; classified and unclassified publications; technical documentation; personnel training and training equipment; studies and surveys; and other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is up to $79 million.

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc., Poway, California, was awarded a $29,939,253 cost-plus fixed fee and firm-fixed priced option year award for Belgium MQ-9B SkyGuardian remotely piloted aircraft systems contract logistics support. This contract provides logistics support activities including depot repair, engineering services, field team support and software maintenance services for the Belgium Ministry of Defense. Work will be performed at Poway, California, and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2026. This contract involves Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to Belgium. This contract was a sole source acquisition. FMS funds in the amount of $29,939,253 will be obligated at the time of award. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting authority (FA8689-24-C-2025 P00009).
