New combat vehicles and weapons for Serbian Armed Forces (18. Dezember 2020)

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, attended today the signing of a contract between the Ministry of Defence and Kragujevac-based companies “Zastava Arms“ (“Zastava oružje“) and “Zastava TERVO“ for the procurement of materiel for the needs of the Serbian Armed Forces.

„Today we are signing a contract for the procurement of new modular rifles for the Serbian Armed Forces produced by “Zastava Arms“ that will be fitted with modern optical sights produced by “Teleoptik-Žiroskopi“ and new ammunition developed by our company “Prvi Partizan“.

He specified that today a purchase contract for a new MRAP 6x6 off-road armoured vehicle was being signed that would be introduced in the Serbian Armed Forces armament next year.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, visited “Colonel Pilot Milenko Pavlović“ airport in Batajnica today where members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces are testing the VRVZ-200 air-to-surface guided missile for the “Eagle“ aircraft.

- We are planning to continue the modernization of the “Eagle“ in the next two years. Our goal is to equip 12 “Eagles“ with modern equipment so that they are ready to join our squadrons. Serial production of this missile can begin in the coming period, hopefully in the next 12 months, and thanks to domestic institutes and know-how, it will be upgraded and used to equip our armed forces - said the Minister of Defence, adding that the new air-to-surface missile will be one of the key missiles for equipping the upgraded "Eagle" aircraft.

Procurement of new “Lazar 3” combat vehicles for Serbian Armed Forces (20. März 2021)

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, attended today the signing of the contract between the Ministry of Defence and the “Yugoimport-SDPR“ company to procure “Lazar 3“ 8x8 combat vehicles. According to Minister Stefanović, the procurement of domestically produced new generation equipment for our armed forces continues and this is a contract worth 3.7 billion dinars.

According to the Minister of Defence, SAF units will get new Miloš vehicles in a few weeks’ time.

Ich dachte, dass die Serbische Streitkräfte seit langem Lazar 3 Schützenpanzern gekauft hatten. Wahrscheinlich war es zu teuer, die neue MiG-29 und T-72 zu bewaffnen, und dann, neuen Schützenpanzern zu kaufen.
