"The Mi-38T has been developed in accordance with the MoD's requirements on the base of the civil Mi-38 rotorcraft that is being manufactured by the holding's Kazan Helicopter Plant [KVZ]. During the preliminary trials, we will check the compliance of the helicopter and its systems," said the source.
The source noted that Russian Helicopters and the MoD had signed a contract for two Mi-38T helicopters.

Am 23. November fand der Erstflug des Mil Mi-38T statt. Dieser kann zu einem Ambulanzhubschrauber umgebaut und es können auch zusätzliche Treibstofftanks installiert werden. Es ist außerdem eine spezielle Arktisversion geplant. Abhängig von den Ergebnissen der Erprobung sind weitere Käufe dieses Helikopters im Rahmen des staatlichen Rüstungsprogramms 2018-2027 geplant.
