Utility. The MAN 12.240 4x4 BL is the component for the transportation
on roads of the Swap Body (or interchangeable body) System of the Austrian
Armed Forces. In 2005 the Austrian Armed Forces bought 307 vehicles.
The
Swap Body System comprises of the UNIMOG U 4000 all terrain truck,
the MAN 12.240 truck for transportation on roads, the Swap Bodies made
by EMPL and accessories like a swap body trailer and a winch system
to change the swap bodies even in the field.
