Belgium issues RFI for command and liaison vehicles
The Belgian Ministry of Defence has issued a request for information (RFI) for the procurement of a new armoured command and liaison vehicle to replace its current Iveco Lynx Light Multirole Vehicle (LMV). The RFI, a copy of which has been seen by Jane's, is for around 440 identical vehicles, plus maintenance.
The new vehicle will be used as a joint command and liaison platform for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance, motorised troops, as well as the air and medical components.
All vehicles will be identical, with the same passive protection. Some 20% of the new vehicles will be permanently equipped with a 7.62 mm, 360-degree remote-controlled weapon station (RCWS) provided by Belgium but installed by the winning bidder.
